COUNTDOWN OF EUROVISION 2024 RESULTS – POSITION 18

ESC Covers start the Eurovision 2024 countdown from position 37 to the top place. We are using the review of Morten Thomassen from Norway. ESC Covers google translated it from Norwegian to English.

This is a blog entry and represents only writer Morten Thomassen’s own views.

For a country that has had a total of 5 last places this millennium, that’s actually 20% of all last places, something happened when they came in 2nd place two years ago, but they were back in the mud the following year when they organized themselves, but you could perhaps say that this is due to an artist who did not quite deliver on stage.

Just the latter, I think we saw an improvement on this year when Olle Alexander entered the stage, an already recognized and stage-accustomed artist who some thought would give this country a good position, they have not been spoiled with that, so to speak.

In terms of points, it didn’t start out too bad after the jury had their say, but the people obviously didn’t fall for what our British friends served us on stage, absolutely no one got dizzy from what they heard and saw and then 0 points are awarded.

I have a feeling that this is largely due to the stage show, which was in a way very innovative, with singers and dancers in absolutely every angle on the TV screen, but the whole show was simply too fixated on the gay audience and it will too narrow a group if you want to collect points, it actually turned out.

Otherwise, you notice that the vocals are really shaky at times and so much so that it affects the overall impression quite a bit, and in this way you can wonder why some juries thought this was one of the best songs this evening, maybe juries tend to fall for cool shows and overlook other weaknesses in the show?

Anyway, it’s nice that this country is obviously betting more on ESC than you did a few years ago, they should just remember to make their show a little more family friendly so that it’s palatable for those who are going to vote too, this year they stretched the elastic a bit too by far, although it didn’t do much for me personally, but in the grand scheme of things it probably did just that.
