SuRie has won the 2018 Eurovision: You Decide national selection with Storm and will represent the United Kingdom at the 2018 Eurovision Song Contest in Lisbon, Portugal in May.
The presenters of the show, held at the Brighton Dome where ABBA won the 1974 Eurovision Song Contest, were Mel Giedroyc and the 2015 Eurovision champion from Sweden, Måns Zelmerlöw.
Måns kicked off the show with the 2017 UK singer, Lucie Jones, and they performed a medley of ABBA hits.
Six songs competed in the selection –
RAYA – Crazy
Liam Tamne – Astronaut
Asanda – Legends
Jaz Ellington – You
SuRie – Storm
Goldstone – I Feel The Love
A combination of jury votes by eight music professionals and televoting confirmed Storm will fly the Union Jack in Lisbon. A panel consisting of Rylan Clark-Neal (tv presenter and singer), Rochelle Williams (singer formerly from The Saturdays and tv presenter) and Tom Fletcher (singer formerly of McFly and songwriter) gave their opinions after each performance.
Storm is composed by Nicole Blair, Gil Lewis & Sean Hargreaves.
