Malta will be represented by the very talented Christina with Parachute in the 2016 Junior Eurovision Song Contest. Let us look back at Malta’s history in the competition.
Malta were one of the original countries taking part in the 2003 Junior Eurovision with Sarah Harrison and her upbeat song Like A Star and finished in seventh place. Malta have won the competition twice. First with the amazing vocal talents of Gaia Cauchi in 2013 and the anthemic The Start and also in 2015 with Destiny Chukunyere and the happy soulful sound of Not My Soul.
For this writer here at ESC Covers, Malta has had many good entries at Junior Eurovision and personally finds it difficult to pick an overall favourite song. The songs by Sarah Harrison, Gaia Cauchi and Destiny Chukunyere were fabulous. But also special mentions must be said for the Young Talent Team in 2004 with Power Of The Song, Thea & Friends (2005) with Make It Right, Sophie (2006) with Extra Cute, Daniel Testa (2008) with Junior Swing and the super pop and operatic vocals of Federica Falzon (2014) with Diamonds.
ESC Covers has chosen the talented Nicole Azzopardi with Knock Knock!… Boom! Boom! in 2010 as our choice and you can see Nicole perform her entry below.
