Belarus: Galasy ZMesta have submitted two songs for consideration for Eurovision 2021

The group Galasy ZMesta have submitted two new songs for consideration by the broadcaster, BTRC, for them to represent Belarus at the 2021 Eurovision Song Contest.

The song Ya nauchu tebya” (I’ll Teach You) received much criticism for the lyrics making fun of the Belarus political opposition to Lukashenko. The song was disqualified by the EBU.

Dzmitryj Butakou of Galasy ZMesta said the band had already submitted two new songs to represent Belarus in Eurovision. During the interview he said that he did not understand why the EBU disqualified their initial song!! He went on to say

“There were some people who had an interest in disqualifying his band. Nevertheless, we already sent two new proposals. There is no problem because we write two songs a week. We already have six ready. We chose a few and sent them”.

It is thought the EBU have given Belarus until the end of March to submit their song. In the meantime you can see the original submitted clip for Eurovision 2021 below.

  1. They seem very creative – 6 new songs in a week or so. I do like their entry, it is catchy, so I hope 1 of the 2 they have submitted is also catchy.
