ALL 37 2023 EUROVISION SONGS REVIEWED – SONG 26 – ESTONIA

ESTONIA gets its turn today to be looked at by Morten Thomassen and if it can cross the BRIDGE between the semi final into the final. ESC Covers google translated it from Norwegian to English.

This year, several countries have gone for a song where one or more of the composers already has an ESC victory under their belt.

One of these is our Estonian friends, where the artist Alika has just as easily brought Wouter Hardy along to create the song “Bridges”, he helped write the winning song “Arcade” back in 2019.

An arcade looks a bit like a bridge, so maybe it’s a good sign that the statistics that indicate that this country qualifies from the semi-finals just under 50% of the time should improve that statistic a bit?

We are served a piano-driven ballad of the rather lovely kind and in a year with many such “noisy” songs, I think this one can stand out positively as a nice little breather.

The challenge will be to stand out sufficiently on stage and be one of those you want to vote for.

I think that will happen and thus Alika gets one of the last ten places on the final bus, which departs late on a Thursday evening in May
