This line taught me a new English word at the time, SUPER TROUPER, I had no idea what it was and had to look it up.
Now today is the correct time for this song as today at the F N B station near me where the Soccer world cup 2010 main ceremony took place, will be SUPER SKOUSPEL with several OGAE ROW artists plus also SUSAN BOYLE from the UK. The newspapers reported she will sing one song in Afrikaans, she has been practicing it – but we have no clue as yet what it will be. Many people I know are going – some even with VIP tickets. As it is an outdoor venue, we are glad the weather is so good.
Now the question with this is, which ARTIST from EUROVISION would you like to sing in a language he or she has never sung, so if say you pick Mans and say I would like to hear him sing in Croatian and why.
My artist is from Eurovision 2010 in Oslo.
He is Didrik Solli-Tangen he brought us the wonderful Fredrik Kempe classic ‘My Heart is Yours’ Didrik is from an opera back ground, and although he may have already- I would like to hear Didrik sing italian. perhapes even his take on Il Vovo (Vienna 2016) “Grande Amore” this would suit his powerful vocal range as well.
I just think it would go down very well, as all Eurovison songs require an artist that fits them well.
Steve I am also so found of DIDRIK and MY HEART IS YOURS and we have done the song in South Africa in Italian although not sung bu Didrik.
I think one of the finest ever vocalists to come from Eurovision is zlata ognevich from Ukraine. Her vocal range is out of this world. She’s a true star! I’m also very fond of the Finnish language when sung. I’d marry zlata to any song in Finnish but there was one song I couldn’t get enough of. It is called ‘sabotage’ and although the title is English, the lyrics are all in Finnish. I think she’d be amazing
This is a good question! I think Zlata Ognevich has one of the finest voices I have heard, with superior control and range. Finnish is one of my favourite languages when sung in balladry, and as such, I would love to hear he sing something a little dark and moody with the rolling R’s and staccato phrasing!
I would love to hear CONCHITA WURST sing in RUSSIAN, so her message can be heard and understood even better by those who need to hear it the most!

I would like Sertab Erener to sing in every language as she has an outstanding voice, but if i had to pick just one I would say Italian as it is my favourite language.
I was lucky enough to see her in concert in Melbourne and her voice was amazing and note perfect for the whole show.
I love Loreen and I think it would be absolutely wonderful to hear her sing in Italian. Whatever the language, I think she’s hugely talented!
In 1986, Queen had a concert in Budapest. Surprisingly, Freddie Mercury sang a Hungarian folksong in the local language. Of course, the crowd was amazed and helped him out with the lyrics in some points. Here is a video of it:

To answer the question: beside I totally agree with Richard, with the same reason, it would be great if Conchita would sing in Hungarian, but now I’d pick Bojana Stamenov to sing her song Beauty Never Lies in all the languages which were entered this year’s contest. She’s alredy done with some as a French, German, Spanish and of course Serbian version has been published on her album. But why not make up the skipped ones?
I would live for Conchita Wurst to do a Serbian or Croatian song. Those languages hold a special place in my heart, as does Conchita herself!
I also like the Croatian language and hope they will return to EUROVISION
To answer this question I would love to see singers sing in a language of one of their nation’s “non-friendly neighbours” to foster peace and understanding. Since my childhood days I never understood why wars happen and I still am trying to understand what causes humans to inflict such pain on one another. Eurovision was founded to foster peace and understanding among European nations after the devastation of the second world war. Israel did it in 2009 when they sent an Israeli singer and Palestinian singer and had lines in Hebrew and Arabic! It may be risky for some artists for their career but politics aside sharing cultures build bridges. In this case I’m going to put forward Christos Mylordos who represented Cyprus in 2011, it would be a huge step to sing in Turkish or even Cypriot Turkish. There’s still a lot of healing to do on the beautiful Mediterranean island but it would mean so much. As Christos was born in Nicosia the divided capital, it will certainly be relevant and meaningful.
