Zivert is a popular Russian pop singer. Her name is Julia and Zivert is a surname. The singer hasn’t got professional musical education. But despite this Zivert has been packing stadiums at her concerts for many years, millions of Russian speaking people know the words from her songs, and the DJs tirelessly create remixes.
Before appearing on the stage, Julia was a successful stewardess at Aeroflot Airlines and even worked business aviation for some time. But since childhood, the girl dreamed of being a singer. From early ages, she professionally engaged in dancing and attended private vocal lessons. Over the years of unprofessional singing, Zivert developed her own vocal style but vocal mentors sought to “break” Julia, to force her to sing “right”. It wasn’t possible to find a good mentor right away. As a result, the girl came to the vocal studio “Vocalmix”, where mentors polished what was available, and didn’t work with her under the generally accepted standard.
Zivert debuted on YouTube in 2017 with singles Chak and Anesthesia. Julia became famous in Russia after these releases. In April 2018, Zivert released a mini-album with four songs: Zelenye volny (Green waves), Siyai (Shine), Yesche khochu (I also want) and Ocean. All these songs were nostalgic with the atmosphere of the times of the late 80s and the beginning of the 90s.
Zivert gained international fame in the end of 2018 with her single Life. It became the most searched single on Shazam for 2019, and also took the first line of the most popular tracks of 2019 according to Yandex Music and the second place in the ranking of the most listened tracks in Russia according to Apple Music. The musical video of Life was filmed in Hong Kong. The video collected more than 224 million views in YouTube.
In September 2019, Zivert released her debut album ‘Vinyl #1’. Since then, the singer has gone on to release multiple hit singles such as Beverly Hills, Cry, Fly, Del Mar, I love you, Rokki, Balloon, Credo, Wake up.
Zivert has received different musical awards in Russia many times. Among her achievements are Muz TV Awards, RU TV Awards, Russian National Music Award “Victoria” and New Radio Awards. In 2020, Zivert was in short-list of possible representatives of Russia for Eurovision but Russian First Channel chose Little Big and the contest cancelled due the COVID pandemic. In 2023, Zivert was one of the mentors of the 12th season of show ‘The Voice Russia’ at First Channel. After this the singer took a creative break for a year. Julia is back with a new song Egoist. Her first performance after the long break was on February, 7 during Big Love Show in Saint Petersburg.
