DUTCH EUROVISION COMPOSER HANS VAN HEMERT PASSED AWAY

Hans Christiaan Willem van Hemert (Voorburg, 7 April 1945 – Hilversum, 7 October 2024) was a Dutch music producer, composer and lyricist.

Mouth & MacNeal and Luv’ are among the pop acts he produced. He wrote the Dutch entries for the Eurovision Song Contest in 1972 (Als Het Om De Liefde Gaat), 1974 (I See A Star) and 1976 (The Party’s Over).
In 1983 and 1984 he wrote the songs with which Vulcano participated in the Dutch national finals. In 1997 he wrote the song Dat Liefde Zo Moet Zijn which, sung by Mrs Einstein, came in 3rd.
The famous composer had been seriously ill for some time. He had been suffering from cancer for years.
