For several days to come we will look at the German Eurovision winner of 1982 NICOLE and original songs by her that have been covered by South African artists in Afrikaans or English.

The 16th NICOLE song is PAPILLON from 1982.

There are three  Afrikaans covers of the song. Two are on Youtube, the other one is not. There are also one English cover which is on Youtube and was a top 20 hit.

RINA HUGO covered it as PAPILLON. CARIKE KEUZENKAMP also covered it as PAPILLON. Both are on Youtube. Although the titles are the same, the lyrics are totally different.

MANUEL ESCORCIO also covered it in Afrikaans as TORTELDUIF, SING JOU LIED. This is not on Youtube.

JOANNA FIELD covered it in English as BUTTERFLY and it is on Youtube.
