For several days to come we will look at the German Eurovision winner of 1982 NICOLE and original songs by her that have been covered by mainly South African artists in Afrikaans.

The third NICOLE song DER ALTE MANN UND DAS MEER from 1981.

DANA WINNER from Belgium  covered it in Afrikaans as DIE VISSERMAN EN DIE SEE (The fisherman and the sea). Unfortunately there is no Youtube video.

DANIE JANSEN from South Africa covered it in Afrikaans as DIE GRYS OU MAN EN DIE SEE (The grey old man and the sea). This cover is also unfortunately not on Youtube.
