It is now 8 days to the 2024 Eurovision final in Malmo, Sweden. For  20 days running I will highlight one song from each of the last 20 years and I have started with 2004. Now with 8 days to go it this the 2016 Eurovision.

The 2016 Eurovision song contest took place in STOCKHOLM, SWEDEN. The winner was JAMALA from the UKRAINE with 1944. Again it was not a popular victory due to a perceived political nature of the song.

For me the winner was the RUSSIAN entry YOU ARE THE ONLY ONE by SERGEY LAZAREV. Actually interesting is that in 2004 Croatia had a song with the exact same title and that too was my winner then.
