POSITION 3 IN THE 2023 EUROVISION – ISRAEL

Morten Thomassen from Norway started reported on the final positions of the 37 entries in the 2023 Eurovision song contest. ESC Covers google translated it from Norwegian to English.

This is a blog entry and represents only writer Morten Thomassen’s own views.

I guess we all have a contribution that we simply don’t understand why it resonates with many, or perhaps why it doesn’t resonate with many.

My obvious candidate for the award, “most-personal-negative-reaction-to-the-result-candidate” is probably Israel’s Noe Kirel, I met the lady and she was sweet and nice she so it’s not the person I have anything against, that is how well this song was received I struggle with.

That young Miss Kirel, despite her young age of 22, is already an experienced artist, there was little doubt when we saw what she was able to do on stage, so what do I really have to complain about?

Well, when the competition in English is called the Eurovision Song Contest, it would have been nice if it was sung during the whole song, we avoid that with almost the entire last minute of the performance, but it is sung by someone who is not present on stage.

Our Israeli friends have really taken advantage of the fact that all the singing doesn’t have to be live and they’ve sent dancers who naturally make the show we get to see on TV that much more intense.

What an intense show it was and the only thing I have to complain about is that the vocals are a bit strained at times, but with that show there is almost nothing else to expect.

That both the jury who gave her 177 points, which made her second after they had theirs and the people gave her 185 points which still pushed her down a place on the results list because of a Finnish guy who created the best show on stage is, as I said, a bit incomprehensible.

It’s quite possible that I’m a bit too upset about the fact that singing on the soundtrack is a law that does this and quite possibly I’m a bit mad that so many others aren’t as mad as I am about this and yes, Norway opened its song without the artist on the scene sang so a little slap on the fingers to her there also from my side in this area.

One can hope that everyone who sings in one way or another must be physically present on stage next year in Malmö, our Israeli waters have many good artists and not least choristers who can certainly dance if necessary, bring them over.
