POSITION 13 IN THE 2023 EUROVISION – CROATIA

Morten Thomassen from Norway started reported on the final positions of the 37 entries in the 2023 Eurovision song contest. ESC Covers google translated it from Norwegian to English.

This is a blog entry and represents only writer Morten Thomassen’s own views.

Every year there is one entry that some people really love and others hate just as much, simply because it is of the most unusual kind.

I think we can state that the Croatian guys in Let 3 fit perfectly into this combination with the song “Mama ŠČ!”, because we rarely see more unusual stage shows in our beloved competition.

Not unexpectedly, they made it to the final with an 8th place in their semi-final and they should be happy that only the people got to decide the outcome there.

Because in the final they only got 11 points from the juries, of which 8 of these points came from the neighboring country of Serbia, with the people, on the other hand, the atmosphere was much better, a total of 112 points were given to these cheerful guys from the Balkans.

Damir, Zoran. Ivan. Drazen and Matej are the names of the guys in Let 3, when asked why they weren’t called Let 5, I think the answer was that the lack of name change is due to laziness or something like that.

Laziness in how to perform a song in a sensational way on the ESC stage was definitely not there, and since they were already known to dress naked on stage, we can probably be satisfied that they ended up standing in just their panties.

This is claimed to be punk-rock and yes, I would say this is music that, as previously mentioned, you either like or simply can control your enthusiasm for, for me it is the lack of a clear melody and a generally messy song that drags it down a bit .

Vocals are within this and if you’re a punk-rock band, it’s probably expected that what happens on stage will shock a little, although I don’t feel that these guys crossed the line in any way.

And behind everything they are actually trying to convey a message and for example the pictures of children they have on their T-shirts are pictures of abducted Ukrainian children, so nothing to say about their attitudes really.

Our Croatian friends made it to the finals for the first time since 2017 so let’s hope they repeat the feat next year.
