Mario van Tongeren from Amsterdam, the Netherlands watched the broadcast of the ISRAEL CALLING pre party on behalf of ESC Covers and reports as follows.

A few days ago, the annual pre party in Israel took place, and it was broadcast on YouTube this evening. 18 of this year’s Eurovision contestants performed their entries there, and we watched along. For me, one of the bigger highlights were Vesna from Czechia, as their live vocal was very strong, especially while singing together.

Another highlight was The Busker from Malta, who managed to bring a lot of fun to the stage, even without the effects used during the Maltese national final.

Alika from Estonia gave an amazing vocal performance of a very beautiful song.

The last two performers of the night, Blanca Paloma from Spain and Luke Black from Serbia gave very impressive performances as well.

There are also a few that might need some more improvement. Reiley from Denmark performed most of his song with his eyes closed, which I personally wouldn’t advise, in front of a 100% televoting audience next month.

I personally also expected a bit more from Iru from Georgia. Her vocal performance was not entirely on point, so that is something to watch on the way to Liverpool next month.
