Morten Thomassen writes today of the German group WIND that ended  in second place in 1987. ESC Covers google translated it again from Norwegian to English.

We are back to the happy 80s and a group that actually appears twice in this series.

We are of course talking about the German group Wind, who took silver twice in our beloved competition.

The year 1987 was the year they were 31 points away from the victory that a certain ESC king named Johnny Logan took.

Down to third place, which Italy took, there were 38 points, so in that sense they ended up pretty much in the middle in their silver place.

The song about letting the sun into your heart probably warmed many, but they did not spread enough warmth to win.

This group started their career with their participation in the international final in 1985, initiated by the person who wrote the song that year, Hanne Haller.

They have had a whole football team of members come and go and some of them have actually returned as well.

It is worth noting that none of the people who were in the original group are anymore in the trio they are today.

The last time they released music should have been in 2017 and since they have already participated 3 times in the ESC, one wonders if German TV believes in the saying that all good things come in threes and on the fourth it will happen.
