For the entire month of February, ESC Covers will take every day a South African artist/group/duo on a virtual tour to Europe. We will visit 28 countries.

Day 18 takes us to GREECE. With a large number of Greek speaking people living in South Africa, we have a good idea about their  culture and the Greek islands are popular holiday destinations. The SA artists who will be “touring” there, are the boy band HI 5. They have unfortunately broke up and some of the members like Lee Scott became a solo singer while Neil Schoombee emigrated to Australia.

HI 5  covered the 2005 Eurovision entry from  GREECE MY NUMBER ONE by Helena Paparizou. It also turned out to be the winner that year. Hi 5’s Afrikaans cover is called JY IS DIE EEN.
