Manizha – ‘Russian Woman’

On the face of it a song from Russia expressing equality and freedom which also, for the first time in a decade, includes sections of the song delivered in Russian, has to be a crowd pleaser right?

Well yes and No.  The fact that is not a Little Big entry we are talking about, will for many fans be a major disappointment, and thoughts of what could have been might leave them feeling cold towards this entry.

On the upside, what Russia has delivered is something straight from the leftfield that those looking for something different, may well appreciate.

But whilst this ode to Russian women is certainly admirable in its intentions, realistically, the song is too quirky that to gather much popular support and there it is every chance that it will suffer similar fate as Julia Samoylova in 2018.
