France chose its entrant for Eurovision 2021 this evening with a return to a live show selection format.
12 artists competed in the newly created ‘c’est vous qui décidez!’show which kicked off in style with a star studded Eurovision Medley which included a performances by Duncan Lawrence and France’s last winner Marie Myriam performing ‘L’Oiseau Et L’Enfant’
After the second round of 50/50 public/jury voting – pre show favourite Barbara Pravi emerged victorious with her performance of ‘Voila’ which drew heavily on the Chanson Française tradition with liberal Piaf imagery thrown in for good measure.
Pravi is no stranger to Eurovision having been the co-writer of both the 2019 France Junior Eurovision entry ‘Bim Bam Toi’ and this years entry ‘J’Imagine’ which won for France in 2020.
We wish her well in Rotterdam in May and you can watch her winning performance below.
